This wish becomes reality resulting in Dorian remaining young and beautiful and his portrait decaying with every corrupt and criminal action he now takes in his hedonistic life.
The only novel written by Oscar Wilde, it received mixed reviews due the high moral code of Victorians at the time of publishing, but is now considered a masterpiece of gothic literature.
